The EGU journal Earth system dynamics published our entitled “Global and northern-high-latitude net ecosystem production in the 21st century from CMIP6 experiments” in the new year. Led by Han Qiu, we used results from the Coupling Model Intercomparison Project Phase 6 (CMIP6) to examine the contribution of the Arctic region to global net ecosystem production (NEP) in the 21st century under different global change scenarios. The study found that while the Arctic only accounts for a small percentage (around 13%) of the global carbon sink, the uncertainties in NEP in the northern high latitudes are much larger than at the global level.
